Gauge:
Stockinette stitch with needle 4 mm 26 stitches x 34 rows for 10 cm x 10 cm
Stockinette Stitch / Basic Pattern:
In rounds only knit
Garter Stitch:
In rounds knit one round, purl the next. Repeat these two rounds throughout.
Cable pattern:
One pattern repeat consists of 4 stitches and 4 rows. Round 1: \*hold 2 stitches on cable needle behind work, k2, k2 stitches from cable needle, repeat from\* Rounds 2-4: knit Repeat rounds 1-4 throughout
I-cord:
You can either work the I-cord with a knitting doll / knitting jenny or as follows:

Work with 2 double pointed needles and cast on 3 stitches. Knit one row. Don't turn, but move stitches back to beginning of this needle. Bring the yarn back to here behind the work and hold it tight. Knit 3 stitches again and repeat this procedure, till your cord is long enough.
Hat:

Finger gloves:
Cast on 36 stitches with needle 4 mm and close to round (9 stitches on all 4 of a set of double pointed needles). Rounds 1-4: garter stitch. Round 5: stockinette stitch, increase evenly spread 4 stitches through M1 =40stitches. Work further in stockinette stitch. The stitches on needles 1 and 2 form the palm and the stitches on needle 3 and 4 back of the hand. Round 24: start with thumb gusset as follows: Mark last 3 stitches of palm and first 3 stitches of the back and M1 on both sides of these 6 stitches Round25:knit

Little finger: separate first 5 stitches of palm and last 5 stitches of back on separate needles and M1 to close the gap to the ring finger = 11 stitches. Divide these stitches on 3 needles and knit till the necessary height/length of finger is reached. Now k2tog throughout till 3 stitches are remaining, thread yarn through and tighten. Ring finger: knit the next 5 stitches of the palm, M1 to close the gap to middle finger, knit the next 5 stitches of the back and M1 = 12 stitches. Go on till desired length in stockinette stitch and finish like little finger. Index finger: take the remaining 10 stitches and close the gap as done before with M1 = 12 stitches. Finish like the other fingers. Thumb: take on the stitches on hold, cast on 6 stitches to close the gap to the index finger = 20 Stitches. Round 6o:knit Round 61: k2tog last stitch before gap + first from cast on, k4, ssk last cast-on stitch and first from the remaininc stitches = 18 stitches.
