Eye (make 2, starting with black yarn): Rd 1: 4sc in magic ring (4) Change to grey yarn. Rd 2: 3sc in ea st, around (12) F/O, leaving tail to sew onto hat. Work one chenille stem along the top edge of each wing for form, leaving /" on the inside of the hat (where your head would go). Fold this end toward back of hat to create a softened arc to add support to the wing while protecting child's head. Stitch through inside layer over chenille stem to reinforce.
