Crochet Pattern
Materials: Yarn: Worsted weight yarn Hook size(s): "J" (6 mm),"I(5.5mm) Sizes: 0-3mo to large adult Gauge: "J"= 12 stitches and 10 rows in hdc = 4" x 4" ""= 14 stitches and 10 rows in hdc = 4" x 4" Stitch marker Abbreviations: sl st - slip stitch Ip- loop sc - single crochet hdc-halfdouble crochet dc - double crochet st or sts - stitch or stitches ch - chain stitch rnd(s) -round(s) sp -space beg - beginning Use "J" hook for 3-6mos, toddler, and large adult only. Use "" hook for 0-3mos, 6-12mos, child, and adult. Use stitch marker in 1st st of each round. Ch 2 does not count as an hdc unless noted.

Top section - all sizes Round 1 - start with a magic ring, ch 2, 8 hdc into ring. (8 hdc) Round 2 - 2 hdc in each around. (16 hdc) Round 3 - \*hdc, 2hdc in next, repeat from \* around. (24 hdc) Round 4 - \*hdc 2, 2hdc in next, repeat from \* around. (32 hdc) Round 5 - \*hdc 3, 2hdc in next, repeat from \* around. (40 hdc) end here for 0-3mos & 3-6mos Round 6 -\*hdc 4, 2hdc in next, repeat from \* around. (48 hdc) end here for 6-12mos & Toddler 5, 2hdc in next, repeat from \* around. (56 hdc) end here for Chil Round 8 - \*hdc 6, 2hdc in next, repeat from \* around. (64 hdc) end here for Adult & Large Adult
Main section -- all sizes
Sc, sl st in the next 5, to finish the last round from top section. Round 1 - ch3(counts as dc), 2dc in same sp as ch3, ch2, sk 3,\* 3dc in next, ch2, sk3, repeat from \* around, sl st in top of starting ch3 to join. Round 2 - ch3(counts as dc),hdc in the same as ch3, sl st in next dc, hdc& dc in next dc, ch1, \*dc & hdc in next dc, sl st in next dc, hdc& dc in next dc, ch1, repeat from \* around, sl st in top of starting ch3 to join. Round 3 - \*ch4, sc in ch1 sp, repeat from \* around, do N0T join. Round 4 - ch3(counts as dc), 2dc in same sp as ch3, ch2, \* 3dc in next sc, ch2, repeat from \* around, sl st in top of starting ch3 to join. Repeat rounds 2, 3 and 4, ending with either rnd 3(go to brim 1), or rnd 4(go to brim 2) until it measures approx. from crown to bottom: this is a general number, if you like your hats shorter/longer is a personal preference, the brim will add about an inch. 0-3mos - 5" 3-6m0s - 5-1/2" 6-12mos - 6" Toddler - 6-1/2"

Brim 1
Round 1 - sl st into ch4 sp, ch1, \*4 sc in ch4 sp, sc in sc, 3 sc in next ch4 sp, sc in next sc, repeat from \* around, sl st to 1st sc to join. Round 2 - ch4(counts as dc and ch1), sk 1, \*dc in next sc, ch1, sk1, repeat from \* around, join with sl st to the 3rd ch from the starting ch4. Round 3 - ch1, sc in same sp, sc in ch1 sp, \*sc in dc, sc in ch1 sp, repeat from \* around, join with sl st to 1st sc.
Option 1
Round 4 - ch1, sc in ea sc around, join with sl st to 1st sc. Fasten off, weave in ends. OR
Option 2
Round 4 - ch1, reverse sc (crab stitch)in ea sc around, join with sl st to 1st sc. Fasten off, weave inends. Veave ribbon through dc's from Brim round 3, tie ends in a bow.
Brim 2
Round 1 - ch1, sc in same sp, sc in the next 2 dc, sc in ch2 sp, \*sc in ea of the next 3 dc, sc in ch2 sp, repeat from \* around, sl st to 1st sc to join. Round 2 - ch4(counts as dc and ch1), sk 1, \*dc in next sc, ch1, sk1, repeat from \* around, join with sl st to the 3rd ch from the starting ch4. Round 3 - ch1, sc in same sp, sc in ch1 sp, \*sc in dc, sc in ch1 sp, repeat from \* around, join with sI st to 1st sc.
Option 1
Round 4 - ch1, sc in ea sc around, join with sl st to 1st sc. Fasten off, weave in ends. OR
Option 2
Round 4 - ch1, reverse sc (crab stitch)in ea sc around, join with sl st to 1st sc. Fasten off, weave in ends. Weave ribbon through dc's from Brim round 3, tie ends in a bow.
For another option on the ribbon: Take 2 strands of yarn and a K hook and make a ch long enough to go around the hat plus an additional 12" for the bow. \*\*\*\* you are welcome to sell your finished items from this pattern, however. please do not copy or redistribute the pattern in any way.
