Directions:

Mitts: Cast on 40 stitches, divide evenly and join to knit in the round Rounds 1-11: Work K1P1 ribbing Rounds 12-27: Begin Star Pattern, adding one stitch on first Round 1. Repeat Star pattern 4 times total, ending on Round 4. Thumb hole: With waste yarn, purl last 3 stitches of Round 27 and first 3 stitches of Round 28 Slide stitches back to left needle and purl with working yarn. Rounds 28-35: Repeat Star pattern 2 more times Rounds 36-40: Decrease one stitch, Work K1P1 ribbing for 5 rounds Bind off all stitches Thumb: Pick up 6 stitches above and below the waste yarn before removing Knit along bottom 6, pick up 2 in corner, knit top 6, pick up 2 in other corner.
