SWEET SACHET
A sweet little gift that is sure to be appreciated by your friends, co-workers and family. Fill the interior pillow with your favorite potpourri, crushed herbs and/or spices, cedar chips, or cotton stuffing scented with essential oils.
Materials

DMC Perle cotton floss size 5 ( $100\%$ cotton, 27yds) 1 skein US size 2 $(2.25\mathsf{m m})$ needles Size B or 1 $(2.25\mathsf{m m})$ crochet hook 1 yard $\%^{\prime\prime}$ wide satin ribbon Small piece of cotton or satin fabric $4^{\prime\prime}\times8^{\prime\prime}$ Potpourri, cedar chips, cotton stuffing and essential oils, crushed herbs and/or spices Sewing needle, thread, and/or sewing machine Size $4^{\prime\prime}$ square including edging
Body: Make 2 each 3"square
Cast on 19 stitches. Work in Eyelet & Garter Ridge pattern repeating the 4 rows of the pattern 8 times. Eyelet & Garter Ridge pattern Rows 1-3: Purl Row 4: Knit 2, (YO, SSK) 8 times, knit 1 Purl 3 rows. Bind off.
Edging
Match the 2 squares holding wrong sides together. With crochet hook, insert hook into edging of both squares and work a slip stitch. Chain 6, insert crochet hook into edges of both squares a 4-row pattern repeat away and attach chain with a slip stitch. Work an extra chain 6 at the corner to turn. Repeat for 3 sides of the body. At the last side, only pick up loops from the front side (one piece) in order to leave a gap to insert the scented pillow. In total, you will work 8 chained lops, matching the loops up with the rows of eyelet on each side, plus 4 corner loops. Next round: Chain 6 and insert hook into the center of the chained loop created in round 1 and slip stitch. Work chain-6 loops all the way around continuing to attach to the center of the previous rounds loops. Block sachet, pinning out loops and starch lightly if desired.
Pillow
Cut fabric into two $4^{\prime\prime}$ squares. Using a $\mathcal{Y}_{2}^{\prime\prime}$ seam allowance, place squares right sides together and sew around 3 sides,turn corner and sew $1^{\prime\prime}$ leaving an opening for stffing. Turn pilow right ide out. Stuff with your favorite potpourri, crushed herbs and spices, cedar chips, or cotton stuffing scented with essential oils. Turn under raw edges of opening, and sew pillow closed. Insert pillow into the opening of the knit sachet. Sew the open edge of the squares together. Make a loop of satin ribbon and sew to sachet. Tie a pretty bow into lace mesh at base of loop. Repeat CH 6 loops for $2^{\mathsf{n d}}$ round
