These gloves were designed for my buddy David (Quas), to go with the Fibonacci Pea Cap. Both patterns are free on Ravelry.

The model is my Heir Apparent, who is 7. They don't fit him. They are designed for an adult hand. Difficulty: Easy, as long as you know how to K and P and knit in the round. I did use a technical BO, but you can use a standard BO and get a similar, but not as tight, effect. Materials: Less than 1 skein of 4 different colors of Aran weight yarn. I used shades of grey of Austermann Inca Color. With 4 fullskeins you could probably make 5 pairs. Gauge: 4 sts and 6.5 rounds/" using 2x2 rib. Dimensions: $8.5^{\prime\prime}$ long. Wil fit most adult hands. These have a lot of stretch. Remove 4 sts from ribbing for a smaller woman's hand, and only BO (and CO) 6 sts for the thumb. Directions: With dp or two circular size 7 (U.s.) needles, CO 40 sts. While following stripes color sequence, work in $_{2\times2}$ twisted rib for $1^{\prime\prime}$ , then switch to $_{2\times2}$ rib. Work ribbing straight until end of color D rounds (47 rounds complete). B0 12 sts at beginning of next row on both gloves; cont around in rib. Next row, CO the twelve sts you bound off using simple loop CO. Cont in $_{2\times2}$ twisted rib until the stripes color sequence has been complete; BO with invisible bind-off. Using size 4 or E crochet hook, run one round of single crochet around thumb openings using color A. Weave in all ends. Stripes color sequence: A-21 rounds, B-2 rounds, C-13 rounds, B-3 rounds, D-8 rounds, B-5 rounds, A - 4 rounds, then BO on fifth round. $\mathbf{2\times2}$ twisted rib:R1: $^{\ast}\mathsf{K}2\mathsf{B}$ , P2, cont from \* to end. (This ribbing is a bit tighter and more stable.) $\mathbf{2\times2}$ rib: $^{\ast}\mathsf{K}1$ , P2, cont from \* to end. (This ribbing is looser and has more stretch.) Invisible BO: Here is a good online tutorial for this technique - but you could use a pullover bind-off as well: http://bramblestitches.typepad.com/bramblestitches/2006/06/invisible bind .html
