Caterina Slippers Knitting Pattern: Detailed Instructions for Sizes XS to M with Flower Embellishments

SIZES: The size XS is for a plant lenght of 9,4 inch. The size S is for a plant lenght of 10,23 inch.. The size M is for a plant lenght of 11,02 inch..

NECESSARY:

· 1oo g of Cucciolo yarn by Lana Gatto in your favorite color ·5 mm needles · 5 mm crochet hook · a tapestry needle ·a crochet hook for fowers

GAUGE:

(knitting St. st. with 5 mm needles) 4" x 4" = 16 sts. x 25 rows

Stockinette Stitch:

Alternating entire rows of knit and purl stitches creates the well-known stockinette stitch.

Garter Stitch:

Cast on any number of stitches.Knit every row.

HOW TO:

SLIPPER: Using 5 mm needles, cast on 4 sts. and work garter stitch for 40 (42) (44) rows. Then, go on in St.sts., increasing at every side, inside the first and the last st., 1 st. every 2 rows for 11 (13) (15) times. You'll obtain 26 (3o) (34)) sts on the needle. Now work in Garter stitch and g0 on for 40 (44) (48)) rows. Then return to work St.sts. decreasing at every side 1 st. every 2 rows for 11 (13) (15)) times. You'll have 4 sts. on your needle. Work now garter stitch for 40 (42) ((44) rows and bind off all sts Knit the other slipper in the same way.

FINISHING:

Fold in half the piece obtained (as you see in the pic below) and sew along the sides that you have knitted in garter stitch. Just in one of the two sides, go on sewing until the middle on next side (see the pic below). Now your slipper is finished. You can add some little crocheted flowers to embellish it. The slippers can be realized in different colors, striped, etc... So that you can create a lot of amusing slippers to give to everyone you know!!

FLOWERS:

BIG FLOWER:

Using a 5 mm crochet hook and pink wool, cast on 7 chain sts and join them into a ring by a slip st. In the loop, work as follows (remeber that the single crochet beginning the row has to be worked as 1 chain and the double crochet has to be worked as 3 chains. Finish every row with a S1 st in the first st. Everytime you change the color, crochet this S1 st. with the yarn you have to use in the next row): 1' row: 12 sc. 2° row: (WHITE YARN) \* 1 dc. in the next st., 3 ch., skip 1 ch of the previous row\*. Repeat from \* to \* for 6 times. 3° row: (WHITE YARN) In every group of 3 chains underneath work 1 sc., 1 hdc., 3 dc., 1 hdc., I sc. Cut the yarn and cast off.

LITTLE FLOWER:

Using a 5 mm crochet hook and the white wool cast on 4 chain sts and join them into a ring by a slip st. In the loop, work as follows: 1' row: 8 sc. 2° row: (PINK YARN) \*1 sc.,3 ch., 2 dc., 3 ch.\* repeat from \* to \* for 4 times. Cut the yarn and cast off Now join togheter the 2 fowers, sewing them in the middle.Once they are togheter you can put them on the slippers.
