Agnes was my Grandmother. Visits to her house always included afternoon play time in her jewelry box. Her collection of clip on earrings, bracelets and brooches took my imagination to far off places where women were feminine yet wildly romantic. The Agnes Rose can be worked up in any weight yarn. The larger the yarn, the larger the rose. There are 2 rose patterns included on this pattern. The Cabbage rose and the Tea Cup rose. The Cabbage rose is a large 14 petal 3 layer rose. The Tea Cup rose is a smaller 8 petal 2 layer rose. Get creative with your yarn. I like to knit with multiple strands of different color yarns held together to make a painted rose. Or work each petal group in a shade darker for dimensional colors. Have fun and knit up a dozen!

Finishing:

With sewing thread and needle, sew several beads into the center of the rose. A large button instead of beads makes for a cute look too. Secure all loose ends.

Ways to wear:

There are several ways to where the Agnes rose. Sport it on a jacket by sewing a pin back to it. Hand sew it onto a ribbon or scarf to tie around your neck. For the front page photo, the Agnes rose was sewn to an elastic hair band. The Tea Cup rose is the perfect size sewn to a barrette or hair clip.
