Peppermint Twist Hat
Gauge- 4 sc= 1 " 3 sc rows= 1" Materials used: I hook (5.5Omm), and I Love This Yarn in 2 colors, any worsted weight yarn will do, you may need to adjust your hook size for correct gauge. In the sample I used Red and white to resemble a mint, but I think that it would also look awesome in cream and brown, or silver and brown to resemble a little foil wrapped candy. 1. With color A, magic loop, or ch 3 and join, make 6 hdc inside loop join-6 2. Ch 1, sc and dc in each st around, join-12 In the next rounds you will be switching colors throughout, so do not fasten off until the very end of the hat. When switching colors, you can either crochet over the other color, or run it behind the stitches, but with this technique the inside of the hat won't look very neat. 3. To finish that hat off, with both colors on hook, reverse sc around, join. Fasten off and weave in ends. Pom- I use the pom pom makers by Clover, and love them, but if you don't own one of those, the best way to make a pom is to wrap the yarn around your hand (the palm, or just your 4 fingers) and continue to wrap until you have a decent sized thickness, then slide the yarn off your hand, without unraveling it, and tie it in the center, then cut the ends and fluff your pom.
