stranded necklace, headband, bracelet or whatever

It's bold of me to write a crochet pattern, I know, since I'm a rookie in this crochet game. But nothing more complex than a single crochet happens here, and the end result is a versatile piece of finery, both elegant and fun (with pearl buttons, no less), so I couldn't keep the pattern to myself. I've written this pattern in two sizes - Girl and Lady - because I love mine and my daughter, having inherited my first attempt, the one that was too short, loves hers. My sizes are approximate, though, so be sure you measure your head wherever you'd like the headband to sit and work your first row of chain stitch (and all following rows) to that length. If you want a shorter necklace and don't care at all about headbands and bracelets, go ahead and make the Girl size (l actually prefer that one, not caring much about headbands myself). You can work this in any gauge, too. Did I mention that?

Materials
Stitch Nation Bamboo Ewe (55% Bamboo/45% Wool) Crochet hook (whichever size gets you the gauge you want - I like H) Abbreviations ch = chain stitch sc = single crochet Size Girl (Lady) = 20" (22")
the pattern
Row 1: Ch, until piece measures 20 (22)" from start. Row 2: Turn, sc 5. Chain until work measures 19 (21)". Beginning with the fifth from last stitch on the previous row, sc 5, taking care not to twist work. Row 3: Turn, sc 5. Chain until work measures 19 (21)". Beginning with the fifth from last stitch on the previous row, sc 2. Now, skip the next two stitches and simply ch 2 (this will be your button hole). Pick up with the previous row again and sc 1. Rows 4-5: Repeat row 2. Weave in ends; attach buttons. Wear it however you like!
