Design: Bitta Mikkelborg

Yarn: I have knitted this cowl in Babysilk from Du Store Alpakka. You may use your own preferred yarn. Most important is that the cowl is soft to your skin. Malabrigo sock yarn is an excellent choice too. Size: 140 cm \* 40 cm (after blocking), knitted in Babysilk If you want a smaller or bigger size you may remove or add stitches. The pattern is divisible with 20. The width is totally up to you to decide too, knit the pattern as many times you want, and follow the instructions in which rounds to end.
Yarn: I used 3 balls of Babysilk in the size I knitted.
Needles: Circular needles, minimum 60 cm, 4 mm and 5 mm. If you have chosen other yarn, remember to use from % to 1 mm larger needle size than recommended for the yarn. To cast on/bind off: use even 1 mm larger than that. Other equipment: 1 stitch marker to mark beginning of the round. Pins for blocking the cowl.

Cowl/Scarf:
With needles 5 mm (or the largest needles for your yarn): cast on 240 stitches, and join for knitting in round. Be careful not to twist. Place stitch marker in the beginning of the round. Change to needles 4 (smallest needles for your yarn), and knit alternating round 1 and 2 for 8rounds: Round 1: \*K1, p1, repeat from \* through round. Round 2: \*p1, k1, repeat from \* through round. Now continue knitting following chart from round 1. The chart is to be knitted from right to left, and repeat stitches 1 - 20 through rounds. Knit the entire chart from round 1 - 24, and repeat these rounds all through the cowl. Knit as many repeats you want, and end after rounds 10 or 22. Knit 8 rounds with moss stitch again like you did in the beginning. Change to 5 mm needles and bind off loosely. Gently wash the cowl, follow the instructions for your yarn. Block the cowl to stretch the pattern.
