with a magic ring, ch 1, 6 sc in ring. Pull the tail to tighten th ring. Round 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc) Round 3: \* 1 sc in the first st, 2 sc in the next st. \* Repeat from \* to \* around. (18 sC) Round 4: \* 1 sc in the first 2 sts, 2 sc in the next st. \* Repeat from \* to \* around. (24 sc) Round 5: \* 1 sc in each of the first 3 sts, 2 sc in the next st. \* Repeat from \* to \* around. (30 sc) Round 6: \* 1 sc in each of the first 4 sts, 2 sc in the next st. \* Repeat from \* to \* around. (36 sc) Rounds 7 - 14: 1 sc in each st around. (36 sc) Round 15: \* 1 sc in each of the first 4 sts, sc dec over next 2 sts. \* Repeat from \* to \* around. (30 sc) Round 16: \* 1 sc in each of the first 3 sts, sc dec over next 2 sts. \* Repeat from \* to \* around. (24 sc) Fasten on the eyes and stitch on the smile with the black yarn and yarn needle. (4 sc) Do NOT fasten off Now, insert your hook into a stitch to the left of the whale's rear when the rear is facing you and sl st. Ch 1, turn. Row 1: SC in the next 5 sts. Ch 1, turn. Row 2 - 7: SC across the sc's that you just made. Ch 1, turi Row 8: 4 hdc in the first st, sl st in the next 3 sts, 4 hdc in the last st. Sl st down the side of the tail. At the base of the tail, sl st into the st that is directly below the st that is on the end of the row that is the base of the tail. Row 1: SC in the next 5 sts. Ch 1, turn. Row 2 - 7: SC across the sc's that you just made. Ch 1, turn. Row 8: 4 hdc in the first st, sl st in the next 3 sts, 4 hdc in the last st. Fasten off and weave in ends.
