this lace-sampler top is knit in two simple rectangles from the bottom up & seamed at the shoulders & sides to create the boxy shape. very suitable for beginners, would make an excellent first garment ! body (make two) : cast on 99 stitches, slip the first stich of every row for a clean edge. work in garter stitch for 1.5" \*work lace stitch, knit the next 4 rows. continue from \*, see next page for lace guide. finish with 1.5" garter stitch.
