Row 2: P1, $\star_{\sf k}$ , p1; rep from \* to last st, p1. Row 3: K1, \*p1 k1; rep from \* to last st, k1. Row 4: P1, \*p1, k1; rep from \* to last st, p1.
Notes:
Lower body section is knit in one piece sideways around the body. Yoke is picked up and worked. Sleeves are picked up and knit downward without seams.

Lower Body
Cast on 27 (32, 36) sts. Work in stockinette st for 20 (22, 24)". Bind off.
Lower Hem
Pick up and knit 90 (100, 108) sts along long edge. Knit 4 rows. Bind off.
Yoke
Measure and place markers along remaining long edge at $5\,(5\,^{\,1/2},6)^{\prime\prime}$ and 10 (11, 12)". 5 (5 1/2, 6)" remain at end.
Back yoke
Between markers, pick up and knit 44 (50, 54) sts. Work double moss st for $4\,1/2\,(5,5\,1/2)^{\ast}$ .Placests on holder for shoulders and back neck.
Right front yoke
Beg at front edge to first marker, pick up and knit 22 (24, 26) sts. Work double moss st for 2 1/2 (3, 3 $31/2)^{\prime\prime}$
Shape neck
Bind off 7 sts at beg of next RS row. Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 RS rows. Work even until front yoke measures same as back yoke to shoulders. Place 11 (13, 15) sts on holder for shoulders.
Left front yoke
Begat $2^{\mathsf{n d}}$ marker to front edge, pick up and knit 22 (24, 26) sts. Work double moss st for 2 1/2 (3, 3 $31/2)^{\prime\prime}$
Shape neck
Bind off 7 sts at beg of next WS row. Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 WS rows. Work even until front yoke measures same as back yoke to shoulders. Place 11 (13, 15) sts on holder for shoulders.
Three Needle Bind Off Shoulder Join
Holding front and back right sides together, work 3 needle bind off: Put right needle through 1st stitch on front needle then through 1st stitch on back needle, knit as usual. Repeat for $2^{\mathsf{n d}}$ stitch.Two stitches now are on right needle. Lift right-most stitch over last stitch knit and off the needle. One stitch now bound off. Repeat across each shoulder.
Sleeves
Using double point needles pick up and knit 41 (45, 49) sts around armhole. Place marker for beg of round. Knit every round dec 1 st on each side of marker every $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ round 5 (5, 6) times then every other round 4 (5, 5) times. Work even on 23 (25, 27) sts until sleeve measures $5\;1/2\;(6\;1/2,7\;1/2)^{\prime\prime}$ Work 4 rounds garter st (p 1 round, k 1 round). Bind off.
Collar
From WS pick up and knit 62 sts around neck. Work in double moss st for 2 $1/2^{\prime\prime}$ .Bind off loosely.

Front bands
Place pins or markers for buttonhole placement; on right front for girls and left front for boys. Buttonband Pick up and knit 40 (46, 54) sts along front edge. Knit 5 rows. Bind off.
Buttonhole band
Pick up and knit 40 (46, 54) sts along front edge. Knit 1 row. Next row work (k2tog, yo) for each buttonhole at marker. Knit 3 rows. Bind off. Sew on buttons.
