Reindeer Head Christmas Ornament

Materials
E hook (3.5mm) Hot glue gun to attach the google eyes 1/3" google eyes (2) Brown yarn (RHSS cafe latte was used in the sample) Beige yarn (RHSS cornmeal was used in the sample) Red yarn (ILTY Fire red was used in the sample) Size Height: 5 12" from top of antler to bottom of nose Width: 3" across measured at the widest part of the ornament
Gauge
5 sc across x 5 rows high=1 Notes This ornament is worked from the top down with minimal sewing. Gauge is not critical for this project and the finished size will depend on the hook you choose and the weight of the yarn. Head
With reindeer color of choice Row 1: Ch 3, 2 sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in the last ch. (4) Row 2: Sc in each st (4) Row 3: 2 sc in the first st, sc in the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the last st. (6 Row 4: Sc across (6) Row 5: 2 sc in the first st, sc in the next 2 sts, 4 sc in the last st. (8) Row 6: 2 sc in the first st, sc in the next 6 sts, 2 sc in the last st. (11 Row 7: 2 sc in the first st, sc in the next 8 sts, 2 sc in the last st. (1: Rows 8-10 : Sc in each st across. (12) Row 11: Sc2tog, sc in the next 8 sts, sc2tog. (10) Row 12: Sc2tog, sc in the next 6 sts, sc2tog. (8) Row 13: Sc2tog, sc in the next 4 sts, sc2tog. (6) Row 14: Sc2tog, sc in the next 2 sts, sc2tog. (4) Row 15: Sc2tog 2 times. (2) Row 16: Ch 1, working down the side of the piece, sc evenly until you get to row 4. Ch 4, sl st in the first ch from hook, sc, hdc, sl st in the same st as beg ch 4 (ear made). Sc around to the opposite side of the head, placing 3 sc in each of the corners, until you are even with the other ear. Ch 4, sl st in the first ch from hook, sc, hdc, sl st in the same st as beg ch 4 (ear made). Sc evenly down the remaining sts and join to beginning sc. Fasten off, weave in ends.
Nose
Ch 3, 10 dc in the 3rd ch from hook, sl st to join. Leave a long tail to attach to the reindeer. (1o) Position the nose at the base of the reindeer head in the center (see picture for placement). Stitch on the face and weave in any remaining ends.
Antlers
Looking at the top of the reindeer head locate the center 2 sts. You will be working the antlers in the st before and after those 2 sts, mark sts if necessary. With antler color, attach to the indicated st above. Ch 7, Hdc in the 2nd ch from hook and in the next 2 ch, sl st in the same st. Ch 4. Working back down the ch, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in the next 2 ch. Sc in the base of the beginning ch 4 and sl st in the same sp. Sc down the remaining sts of the antler. Sc and sl st in the same st as the beginning join. Fasten off and weave in ends. Repeat for the 2nd antler. To attach a loop to hang the ornament, attach reindeer color in the 1st free ch in between the antlers with a sl st. Ch 15 and sl st in the next free st. Fasten off and knot the tails together a couple times to secure. Weave in ends. Attach eyes to the reindeer in the desired position. ?
