NOVEMBER IN DALE HAT
By Henrikka Kontimo I made this hat while waiting to go and visit a friend of mine in Dale, Norway. I thought this soft and slightly sportish good mood hat would be great to wear while hiking through gorgeous fjord landscapes, and so it was.

This hat is small / medium, but it's quite stretchy. YARN 100g of fingering weight yarn in two colours; 50 g of both colours. (I used Bremont Camino Alpaca in petrol and beige) NEEDLES 3-3,5mm circular needle and double pointed needles. GAUGE 25 stitches x 48 rows in garter stitch DIRECTIONS The hat is knitted in the round. Start with the circular needle and change to dpns when necessary. Cast on 100 stitches with colour A. Round 1: Move one stitch from right needle to left needle. Knit all the stitches with colour A. (The moved stitch will be the first one to be knitted.) Round 2: Move one stitch from left needle to right needle. Purl all the stitches with colour A. (The moved stitch will be the last to be purled. ) Round 3: Move one stitch from right needle to left needle. Knit all the stitches with colour B. (The moved stitch will be the first one to be knitted.) Round 4: Move one stitch from left needle to right needle. Purl all the stitches with colour B. (The moved stitch will be the last to be purled. ) The point of always moving the one stitch in the beginning of the rnd is to make the ends of each colour stripe match nicely together. Keep on repeating rounds1-4 until you you have 16 colour A stripes and 16 colour B stripes. Turn. ( Wrong side of the work becomes now right side.) Keep on repeating rnds 1-4 until you you have 19 more colour A stripes and 19 more colour B stripes. The length of the hat is now approximately 27 cm.
