Guage is unimportant for this project. Number in brackets is the number of stitches in each row. → BLO (back loops only) → st (stitch) → hk (hook) → sp (space)
Body of Bag:
Using 5.5mm hook Ch 3 1) 7 hdc in 2nd ch from hk, sl st into original ch st to join (8) 2) ch 2 (counts as first hdc now and throughout pattern), hdc in same st, \*2 hdc in next st\* {repeat from \*}. sl st in first ch3 to join (16) 3) ch 2, hdc in same sp \*hdc in next st, 2hdc in next st\* {rep from \*). sl st in first ch2 to join (24) 4) ch 2, hdc in same sp \*hdc in next 2 st, hdc in next st\* {rep from \*}. sl st in first ch2 to join (32) 5) ch 2, dc in same sp \*hdc in next 3st, 2hdc in next st\* {rep from \*}. sl st in first ch2 to join (40) 6) ch 2, dc in same sp \*hdc in next 4 st, 2hdc in next st\* {rep from \*}. sl st in first ch2 to join (48) 7) ch 2, hdc in BLO around. Sl st in first ch2 to join (48) 8) ch 2, hdc in each st around (48) 9 - 10) Repeat round 8 {start of V-Stitch Pattern} 11) ch 3 (counts as first dc in V-Stitch now and throughout pattern) 2 dc in same st, \*skip next 2 st, 3 dc in next st\* {repeat from \*}. Sl st in first chain 3 to join. (16 V-stitch clusters) 12) sl st in the next 2 st and in the “space" in between the V-Stitches. Ch 3 and 2 dc in same st, \*3 dc in each “space"\* {repeat from \*} Sl st in first chain 3 to join. (16 V-Stitch clusters) 13 - 17) Repeat round 12 18) ch 2, hdc in each st around (48) 19 - 21) Repeat round 18 22) ch 3, dc in each st around (48) 23) ch 2,hdc in each st around (48) 24) ch 1, sc in each st around (48) Finish off; weave in ends. Drawstring: Using 6.0mm hk trands of yarn at the same time (I like to use 2 different colours) Ch 76. Weave through the dc section.
Strap:
Using 6.0mm hk NOTE: Use 2 strands of yarn at the same time (I like to use 2 different colours) Sl st into inside of bag at any point in the dc round. Ch 102, skip 24 st and attach with a sl st on the inside of the dc round. Turn sc in each st, secure and weave in ends.
Embellishment:
Attach the flower or button of your choice (if desired)
