Need:

6 yards of brown DK weight for handle 5 yards of yellow DK weight for straw (l used blue) C/2.75mm hook yarnneedle

Size:

You can make this any size you wish. If you want it to be bigger, use worsted weight yarn or if you want it to be smaller, use sock weight or DMC floss. Just adjust your hook to fit the yarn weight;)

Terms:

sc2tog - draw up a loop in next st, leave on hook, draw up a loop in 2nd st, yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

Directions:

Chain 11 with straw color Row 1: sc in 2nd chain from hook and in remaining 9 chains - 10 sc Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc, drop straw color & change to handle color - 10 sc Row 3: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc - 10 sc (work over handle color tail to weave in.) Row 4: turn, slip stitch in each sc, cut handle color and pick up straw color - 10 slip stitches Row 5: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc from row 3 (not the slip stitches) - 10 sc Row 6 - 8: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc - 10 sc Row 9: ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog - 8 sc Even Rows: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc Row 11: ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog - 6 sc Row 13: ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog - 4 sc Row 14: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc, cut straw color and change to handle color - 4 sc For crocheted icord handle - Row 15: turn, slip stitch into first sc, leave loop on hook, sc2tog, leave loop on hook, draw up a loop in last sc, yo and draw through loop just made, leave loop on hook - 3 loops on hook continue in crocheted icord until handle is desired length. Finish off & weave in ends. Add fringe to the 10 chain stitches from start. Block to help keep from curling. For spiral handle - Row 15: ch 1 turn, sc in each sc - 4 sc Fold piece in half and sc in first sc of last row to make the start of the tube. Sc in each sc around and around until handle is desired length. Finish off & weave in ends. Add fringe to the 10 chain stitches from start. Block to help keep from curling.
