Ethereal and warm cashmere and silk blend together with a meandering, easy-to-memorize fern lace pattern to make a delicate, elegant knit.

YARN SweetGeorgia Yarns CashSilk Lace (55% silk, 45% cashmere; 400 yd/60 g): Lakeshore Drive, 1 skein NEEDLES US Size 3 (3.25 mm) Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
FINISHED SIZE
Approximately 7" wide x 54" long.
GAUGE
32 sts and 32 rows = 4" in lace pattern The diagonal fern lace stitch pattern is originally from A Treasury of Knitting Patterns (page 211), but without the garter stitch bands.
SCARF
CO 66 sts and knit across. Row 1 (RS): Sl1 \*k9, yo, k1, yo, k3, sskp; rep from \* to last stitch, k1. Row 2 and all WS rows: SI1, p. Row 3: Sl1 \*k10, yo, k1, yo, k2, sskp; rep from \* to last stitch, k1. Row 5: Sl1 \*k3tog, k4, yo, k1, yo, k3, [yo, k1] twice, sskp; rep from \* to last stitch, k1. Row 7: Sl1 \*k3tog, k3, yo, k1, yo, k9; rep from \* to last stitch, k1. Row 9: Sl1 \*k3tog, k2, yo, k1, yo, k10; rep from \* to last stitch, k1. Row 11: Sl1 \*k3tog, [kl, yo] twice, k3, yo, k1, yo, k4, sskp; rep from \* to last stitch, k1. Row 12: SI1, p. Repeat these 12 rows until piece measures your desired length. With RS facing, sl1 and purl across. BO all stitches loosely.
FINISHING
Weave in yarn ends and trim after blocking.
BLOCKING
Soak scarf in water, adding gentle wool wash if desired, for at least 20 minutes. Rinse and wrap in towel to remove excess water. Lay flat and smooth into shape. Pin if desired. Leave in place until dry. Trim yarn ends and enjoy.
