Sharp Steel Sheath Belt
...As she crept through the darkness, her hand went to her belt, where she grasped the hilt of her trusty dagger. Of elven make, it was a beautiful weapon, forged of the sharpest steel... Size: About 3 inches wide by 20 inches long. Materials: About 75 yards of DK weight yarn in MC and a small amount of CC for lacing. More or less will be required for a differently sized belt. I used Henry's AtticSpangle. Hook: Choose size to achieve desired fabric. I used a G (4.25 mm) hook. Gauge: Not critical. I used 7 sc and 5 rows to the inch (unstretched).

Belt:
With MC, ch 17. (For thinner or wider belt, Ch any multiple of 3 plus 2 Row 1: Sc into 2"d ch from hook. Sc across. Ch 1, turn. Row 2: Sc 2, \*ch 1, skip 1 sc, sc 2. Rep from \* to end. Ch 1, turn. Row 3: Sc across, ch 1, turn. Rep row 3 until belt measures 20 inches or desired length. Next row: Sc 2, \*ch 1, skip 1 sc, sc 2. Rep from \* to end. Ch 1, turn. Next row: Sc across. Fasten off. Weave in ends. For the lacing, take CC and ch for 27 inches, or desired length to lace through eyelets, and fasten off. To tie up your belt, lace the chain through the top eyelet on either side of the belt, then cross each strand over to the other side and lace through the next eyelet down. Continue until all eyelets have been stranded, and then tie the ends in a bow at the bottom of the belt to secure.
