This top is a simple pullover easy enough for a beginner. It makes a great layering piece for several seasons. It is worked from the bottom up. The sample shown is made with Habu Linen Paper, a unique yarn that feels like paper and softens over time. Back and Front: Cast on 128 stitches with US6. Work 24 rows stockinette (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) Change to Us8 and work 10 rows stockinette Continuing in stockinette, decrease 1 stitch each side every 8th row until there are 112 stitches on needle Work50morerows Shape Raglan: Bind off 5 stitches at the beginning of next 2 rows Decrease row - K2, ssk, knit to last 4 stitches, K2tog, K2 Work decrease row on next row and 2 following 4th rows (102 stitches) Work decrease row every right side row until 62 stitches remain Shape Neck: K2, ssk, K15, B024, K15, K2tog, K2 Continue decreasing at arm edges and decrease 1 stitch at neck edge at the same time until 6 neck decreases have been completed. Continue decreasing at arm edge until 6 stitches remain. Work 3 more rows. Bind off. Sleeves: Using US6 cast on 82 stitches. Work 24 rows stockinette. Change to size 8 needles and work 16 rows. Decrease row - K2, ssk, knit to last 4 stitches, K2tog, K2 Work decrease row on next and every following 16th row until 76 stitches remain. (3 decrease rows) Work even in stockinette for 90 rows. Shape Raglan: Bind off 5 stitches at beginning of next 2 rows. K2, ssk, work to last 4 stitches, K2tog, K2 on next and every other right side row until 42 stitches remain.
