
Pippi
A Braided Cable Hat
Pippi is a generous snuggly warm cabled hat. The chunky braided cable is reminiscent of Pippi Longstocking's wild red braids. I hope it fills you with her joyous spirit!
Materials:
165 yds of bulky yarn. Sample knit in Lamb's Pride Bulky size 9 sixteen inch circular needle size 10 sixteen inch circular needle set of size 10 double pointed needles one cableneedle extra large pom pom maker (optional) tapestry needle for weaving in loose ends
Instructions:

Increasing round:
Switch to size 10 needles \*k1, m1, k2, m1, k2, m1, k2, m1, k2, m1, k1, p1, m1p, p1\* repeat \*\* to end of round (108 stitches) Work three repetitions of the following cabling pattern: Rounds 1-4 \*K15, p3\* repeat \*\* to end of round Round 5 \*k5, c10f, p3\* repeat \*\* to end of round Rounds 6-9 \*k15, p3\* repeat \*\* to end of round Round 10 \*c10b, k5, p3\* repeat \*\* to end of round
Decrease for top of hat as follows:
