Newton: Three Laws of Motion
Socks for an enthusiastic physicist and and true gentleman.

"Nature and Nature's Laws lay hid in Night: God said, Let Newton be! and all was Light." (Alexander Pope) Sir Isaac Newton (1642 - 1726) is a famous English physicist an mathematician. The unit of force is named Newton. In 1687 Newton ,Philosphiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica" and laid the foandation for the classical mechanics. You can find the Three Laws of Motion in this publication. This Pattern is inspired by Newton's laws of motion. Assessing the motion of an object in stroboscopic illumination, you can see the following pictures. Each picture can be assigned to one of the laws.

You can find these patterns of motion in the cables. The arrows on the feet symbolize the actio-reactio-prinicple. You probably know the reaction principle from the propulsion of a rocket. But also every other motion bases on the action-reactio-principle, e.g. running or rowing a boat..

Actio-Reactio-Priniciple - Newton's 3° Law To every action there is always opposed an equal reaction: or the mutual actions of two bodies upon each other are always equal, and directed to contrary parts. F1: F2
Instruction
The instruction fits for men size M. You can reduce the number of stitches by reducing the nonecable-stitches. You can shorten or extend the leg by knitting a longer cuff. You can shorten or extend the foot-length by knitting less or more roands before and after the Arrow-Pattern.
