Crochet Bucket Basket
Materials Needed:
Crochet Hook size US G/4.00mm Stitch marker Plastic trail mix bucket Hemp cord or worsted weight yarn
Abbreviations:
Ch - chain Sc - single crochet (American) Dc - Double crochet (American) I wrote this pattern using the hemp cord shown in the picture. You can find it over in the jewelry section of craft stores. Directions in parenthesis are additional directions for use with worsted weight yarn
Base:
Ch 4 (6), join into circle. Sc 6 in circle, join. - 6 sts. Ch 2 [counts as first sc]. Sc 2 in each sc. Join. - 12 sts. Ch 2. Sc 2 in next sc. [Sc 1, sc 2 in sc] repeat. Join. - 18 sts. Ch 2. Sc 1, sc 2 in next sc. [Sc 2, sc 2 in sc] repeat. Join. - 24 sts. Ch 2. Sc 2, sc 2 in next sc. [Sc 3, sc 2 in sc] repeat. Join. - 30 sts. Ch 2. Sc 3, sc 2 in next sc. [Sc 4, sc 2 in sc] repeat. Join. - 36 sts. Ch 2. Sc 4, sc 2 in next sc. [Sc 5, sc 2 in sc] repeat. Join. - 42 sts. Ch 2. Sc 5, sc 2 in next sc. [Sc 6, sc 2 in sc] repeat. Join. - 48 sts. Ch 2. Sc 6, sc 2 in next sc. [Sc 7, sc 2 in sc] repeat. Join. - 54 sts. Ch 2. Sc 7, sc 2 in next sc. [Sc 8, sc 2 in sc] repeat. Join. - 60 sts. Starter Row: Ch 5 [the first 3 ch count as 1 dc]. Dc in third sc from chain. [Ch 2. Dc in third sc from previous dc.] repeat. Join final ch 2 to third chain in beginning 5 ch. Normal Row: . Ch 5. Dc in third sc from chain. [Ch 2. Dc in dc from previous row.] Repeat. Join final ch 2 to third chain in beginning 5 ch. Repeat normal row 3 (4) more times. Sc around for 3 rows.
Crochet Handle:
Ch 6. Turn. Sc 5. Ch 1. Turn. Repeat for 50 total rows. Attach to top of main basket on opposite sides. Or you can just tie a couple of lengths of cord or yarn to each side.
