round 10. Attach Contrast A (assuming main color I considered MC) with floating sc at any corner sc. Sc 2 more in same st. (sc in next 10, hdc in next 2, dc in next, ([dc, tc, dc] together - see note) in center 3 stitches of the side. Sc in next 10, 3sc in corner). Repeat 2 more times. sc in next 10, hdc in next 2, dc in next, (dc, tc, dc together) in center 3 stitches of the ide. Sc in next 10. sl st into floating sc. To do 3 sts together in the center of the side: YO, insert hook in next st, pull up a loop, YO and pull thru 2 loops on hook.[leaving 2 loops on hook] YO twice, insert hook in next st, YO, pull up a loop, (YO and pull through 2 loops on hook) twice [leaving 3 loops on hook], YO, insert hook in next st, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through 2 loops on hook [leaving 4 loops on hook], YO, pull thru all 4 loop on hook. Round 11: ch 1, crocheting thru the BLO of the 10 ch of the ch 20, 3 sc in same st. [sc in BL0 of next ch of ch20 and next st of round 10 5 more times. (in other words, you will insert hook thru BLO of the next ch and sc into next st 5 times) You should have 4 chs left unworked on the ch20. Sc in next 19, sc in BLO of the 6th ch of ch 20 and in next st, (sc in next BLO of ch 20 and next st of round 10) 4 more times. 3sc in BL0 of next ch and corner sc] three more times. (sc in next BLO of ch 20 and next st of round 10) 4 more times, sc in next 19, (sc in next BL0 of 6th ch of ch 20 and next st of round 10) 5 times. Sl st w first sc of round. FO. Note - you leave a total of 9 stiches of each corner ch-20 unworked - 4 on one side, and 5 on the other. A total of 11 are worked into round 11. Center piece (Clue 5): Attach Contract B (assuming main color is MC) with floating sc around post of center dc of 3dc cluster on center of the side of round 3. This is the same place you joined the same color on round 6. In order to do the center piece the way I did, you go in REVERSE DIRECTION from your normal direction. So, for a righty, moving CLOcKWisE, Crochet 3dc into the ch 3 sp at the next corner of round 1, between the 3dc clusters of round 2. Sl st in ch3 sp at the enxt corner of round 2. Crochet 3 more dc into same ch3 corner space of round 1 again. sc around post of center dc of 3dc cluster on the center of the next side. Repeat around. Sl st closed. FO.
