Leaves
To make the leaves, you start with a chain of 7 stitches. Row 1 will work down the chain in the normal fashion, but do not turn the leaf over at the end of the row. Instead you will continue around the beginning of the chain to the underside, keeping the right side facing you always... Row 1- chain 7 Row 2- slip stitch in the 2nd chain from the hook, sc, sc, hdc, dc, 6dc in the first chain stitch working around the end to the bottom of the chain. Do not turn your work over. Row 3- (worked in the underside of the beginning chain, right side still facing) hdc, sc, sl st, slip one more time near the point at the leaf tip and pull a nice neat loop to the top of the leaf. Now you are going to make the center vein down the leaf and the stem coming off of it. Chain through the center of the leaf toward the stem in each of the holes of the starting chain and continue the chain off the leaf for as long as you want the stem to be. Leave a long tail on the stem to sew the leaf on with.
