Crochet Potholder (or hot pad)
1 skein Mission Falls cotton yarn (or similar worsted weight cotton) Crochet hook G ( you want the stitches firm for heat protection) Chain 37 SC in $2^{\mathrm{nd}}$ chain from hook. SC in remaining chains SC in open loops on other side of beginning chain SC in each SC (continue working in a oval) Piece wil look od in the beginning. As the piece gets bigger, the two ends of the beginning chain will fold in towards the center giving you the double fabric. Continue around until both of the ends meet in the center and you have a square. End off. Whip stitch the opening closed. Chain a loop at one corner for hanging (I do this with the end of the yarn used to whip stitch closed).
