Row 1: 3 dc in 4th ch from hook, skip next 3 ch, sc in next ch, skip next 3 ch, \*7 dc in next ch, skip next 3 ch, sc in next ch, skip next 3 ch; rep from \* across to within last ch, 4 dc in last ch, turn Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first dc, \* ch 2, 7-dc cluster worked across next 7 sts, ch 4, sc in next dc; rep from \* across, ending with last sc in 3rd ch of turning ch, turn. Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 3 dc in first dc, \*skip next ch-4 loop, sc in next cluster, skip next ch-2 space\*\*, 7 dc in next sc; rep from \* across, ending last rep at 88, 4 dc in last sc, turn. Braid:

Take a piece of scrap yarn weave it into the cape to measure how long you want the braid. remember to add extra length to compensate for loss from braiding. I used 44". Using the leftover yarn cut lengths until the desired thickness is reached. To prepare for braiding I suggest tying loose knots in each section to help keep tangles from developing. There are two places that work best for weaving in the braid, both are shown below. The second option will create a slight collar effect.
