
Materials Needed:
9.0 (N) hook 5.0(H ) hook Bulky weight yarn (l used lion Brands "Thick and Quick" 1.5 skeins but 2 stands of worsted weight held together should also work) Small amount of pink for inner ears Needle for attaching ears and weaving in ends

ch: chain sl st: slip stitch dc: double crochet hdc: half double crochet sC: single crochet sk: skip stitch f/o: finish off object Gage Swatch: With bulky yarn and 9.0 (N) ch6 1) Dc in 3rd ch from hook,dc in rem 3 ch's 2) Turn, ch2. dc in rem 4 ch's 3) Turn, ch 2, dc in rem 4 chs 3" across and 3" high Change hook accordingly to get best gage.
Pattern:
Ch 46, take care not to twist your chain and sl st to beg ch to make a circle. 1) Ch2, dc in next ch and in each chain around the circle for a total of 46 dc's including your beginning ch2. 2-6) Ch2, dc in next ch and in each dc around, sl st to beg ch. (46dc) 7) SI st in first 15 ch's, ch 1, sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in next 30 sts, hdc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, leave remaining sts in row unworked, this is where the front of the cowl begins and you are only working the hood area.(36sts)TURNWORK 8) Ch1, hdc in next st, dc in next 34 sts, hdc in next st, sc in last st. Turn work 9) Ch2, dc in remaining 35 sts, turn work 10-17)Repeat row 9 Turn your cowl inside out to make it easier to make a clean seam for your hood. Fold work in half to seam the top of the hood. You can achieve this with either a slip stitch or a sc across the edge. Make sure you seam on the inside though as it makes your finished project look much cleaner and neater =)endyarnand F/o Turn your work right side out again so your seam is on the inside of the cowl. Turn your hood so that the edge is on the inside and you are looking at the from of your hooded cowl. Attach yarn to the front and sc around the face edge of your piece. Ears: (make 2) With the bulky yarn ch 7 1) Hdc in the 3rd ch from hook and in each of the remaining ch's (5dc) 2) Turn, hdc 2 tog, hdc1, hdc 2 tog. (3hdc) 3) Turn, ch1 hdc in same st, hdc in next 2 sts (3hdc) 4) Turn, hdc 2 tog, using the middle stitch again hdc 2 tog for a total of 2 hdc. 5) Turn, hdc last 2 sts tog. F/O With pink worsted yarn and 5.0 hook repeat the process listed above to make 2 more ear pieces. Attach your pink pieces to the middle of your larger ear pieces. Then attach the ears to the top of your hood placing one on each side of the head. Be creative!
