This is the design I entered in the Vogue Knitting Magazine's "Scarf for Breast Cancer" contest in 2005 which won First Place in the Knitted Category and was published in their 2005 Fall issue.

There will not be much yarn left over. If in doubt, purchase an additional skein of yarn. Second half of Scarf:

Work as for 1st half of Scarf leaving long tail for grafting. Graft live stitches of both halves together (this will be the middle of the scarf). Block scarf matching finished measurements to open eyelets at points on each end of scarf.

Special Note:

The knots shown on the chart at rows 171-175 where the two halves of the scarf are grafted represent my mother's initials in the Braille alphabet (GwG). She is a breast cancer survivor.
