The Fifth Fickle-Zen Mystery KAL

Michelle Miller and Roxanne Yeun are so excited to bring you the fifth FickleZen Mystery KAL, this one with the new feature of three beautiful skeins including the Mishi colorway! Important KAL Information

Included in Clue #1 is all the information you'll need to get started. You'll find the Suggested Needle Size, Gauge, Yarn, Abbreviations and all the Supplies you'll need to complete the Mystery Shawl. Please be mindful that you are getting gauge so that you don't run out of yarn!

[Needles

Size US 7/4.5 mm Knitting Needles, or size needed to get gauge.

Yarn

Three 100 gram balls of ZYG Serenity Silk [75% Superwash Merino, 15% Cashmere, 10% Silk]. 500 yards/ 457 meters. The first clue is short and sweet with just enough knitting to get you working with your new yarn and needles but before you know it you'll have moved on to Clue 2. The clue comes with written instructions and charts so feel free to knit from either the written instructions or the charts or a little of both. Abbreviations

yo = yarn over. k = knit. p = purl. k2tog = knit 2 stitches together. ssk = slip, slip, knit. sk2p = slip 1, k2tog, psso. psso = pass slipped stitch over. st(s) = stitch(es). RS = right side. WS = wrong side. C4B = slip 2 to cable needle, hold to back, k2, k2 from cable needle.

Clue #4

Chart D (Color 3)

Using the knitted cast-on method and color 3, cast on 27 sts. Begin Chart D, working the pattern repeat in brackets in 3 times per row, ssk the last edge stitch together with one stitch from main body stitches on all odd rows. Repeat Chart D until one stitch before stitch marker is reached, ending with an even row, then stop. Note that wrong side rows include pattern. Row l: Kl, [ssk, yo, k2, ssk, yo, k2] 3 times, kl, ssk with edge st. Row 2: Slip 1, pl, [p2tog, yo, p2, p2tog, yo, p2] 3 times, p1. Row 3: Kl, [C4B, ssk, yo, k2] 3 times, kl, ssk with edge st. Row 4: Slip 1, pl, [p2tog, yo, p2, p2tog, yo, p2] 3 times, p1. Row 5: Kl, [ssk, yo, k2, ssk, yo, k2] 3 times, kl, ssk with edge st. Row 6: Slip 1, pl, [p2tog, yo, p2, p2tog, yo, p2] 3 times, p1. Row 7: K1, [ssk, yo, k2, C4B] 3 times, kl, ssk with edge st. Row 8: Slip 1, pl, [p2tog, yo, p2, p2tog, yo, p2] 3 times, p1.
