Get ready for Spring with this easy colorwork pattern. Three colors are used in the pattern but only 2 colors are ever used at one time. The sock is a basic pattern which includes only 31 rows of colorwork ..14 of which are solid color rows. Great for those new to this technique! Size: Woman's Medium Gauge: 8 stitches = 1 inch in stockinette stitch Needles: US Size 2 (2.75mm) Double Pointed Needles (set of 5) Yarn: 2 skeins Knit Picks Palette in Celestial (231 yards/50 gram) (Main Color) 1 skein Knit Picks Palette in Fuchsia (231 yards/50grams) (Contrasting Color #1) 1 skein Knit Picks Palette in Sky (231 yards/ 50 grams) (Contrasting Color #2) Tapestry Needle
Abbreviations:
K: Knit P: Purl K2tog: Knit 2 together P2tog:Purl 2 together Sl: Slip stitch (without knitting or purling) to the right needle SSK: slip the next two stitches knitwise, one at a time, to the right needle, knit these two slipped stitches together

Cuff and Leg:
Cast-on 64 stitches using Main Color. Divide among 3 needles as follows: 32 stitches on Needle #1, 16 stitches on Needle #2, 16 stitches on Needle #3 and join in the round being careful not to twist stitches. K2, P2 for 10 rows in Main Color Knit 1 Row Stockinette Stitch in Main Color. Proceed to Chart A Chart A is a 32 stitch pattern. Repeat Chart A two times per row for a total of 64 stitches. Follow Chart A for 31 Rows. (The white squares indicate the main color; pink indicates contrasting color #1 and blue indicates contrasting color #2). All stitches in Chart A are knitted using stockinette stitch. After completing Chart A, continue in Main Color using stockinette stitch until the total length of the cuff/leg is about 7inches.
Prepare for Heel Flap:
Knit in stockinette stitch across Needle #1 (32 stitches). Place remaining 32 stitches on one needle. (These will be the heel stitches).
Heel Flap:
Starting on the front side: Row 1: \* (Sl 1, K 1)\* Repeat from \* to end (Turn to back) Row 2: Sl 1, P to end (Turn to front) Repeat Rows 1 & 2 13 times for a total of 28 rows ending with Row 2
Turn Heel:
(I find it's always easiest to turn the heel all at once..) Starting on Right (Front) Side Row 1: Sl1, K18, K2t0g, K1 Row 2: Sl 1, P7, P2tog, P1 Row 3: Sl 1, K8. K2tog, K1 Row 4:Sl 1, P9, P2tog, P1 Row 5: Sl 1. K10, K2t0g, K1 Row 6:Sl 1, P11, P2tog, P1 Row 7: Sl 1, K12, K2tog, K1 Row 8:Sl 1, P13, P2tog, P1 Row 9: Sl 1, K14, K2tog, K1 Row 10:Sl 1, P15, P2tog, P1 Row 11: Sl 1, K16, K2tog, K1 Row 12:Sl 1, P17, P2tog, P1
Set up Gusset:
Begin by working across heel stitiches as follows: · K10 onto first Needle K10 onto next needle and pick up 16 stitches along side (15 in each of the Selvage stitches and one in the corner) K32 stitches onto next needle Pick up 16 stitches (one on corner and 15 in each of the selvage stitches and K10 stitches (previous knitted in this section) onto the next needle. have 26 stitches on Needle 1, 32 stitches on Needle 2 and 26 stitches on Needle
Gusset:
Row 1: On Needle 1, Knit until the last 3 stitches, K2tog, K1 On Needle 2, Knit all 32 stitches On Needle 3, K1, SSK, Knit remaining stitches Row2: Knit all stitches Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until 64 stitches remain (16 on Needle 1, 32 on Needle 2 and 16 on Needle 3).
Foot:
Knit in stockinette stitch until foot (measured from back of heel) is 2 inches shorter than desired length. Toe: Row 1: On Needle 1, Knit until the last 3 stitches, K2tog, K1 On Needle 2, K1, SSK, Knit until last 3 stitches, K2to, K1 On Needle 3, K1, SSK, Knit to end Row2: Knit all stitches Repeat Rows 1 and 2 unitl 24 stitches remain. Finishing:
Weave in loose ends with tapestry needle. Knit second sock.
