Danube Cowl
This cabled cowl is knitted flat with a provisional cast-on. The ends are grafted to form a long loop suitable for wrapping around the neck. Knit in a wool-silk blend, this cowl is warm, cozy, and super soft.

Materials
Yarn
1 skein Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend (DK weight, 70% Merino, 30% Silk. 300 yards / 270 m per 100g) Note: this yarn is also sold in 50g skeins -- two of these smaller skeins would be required for this project.
Needles

Notes
Gauge
19 sts and 30 rows = 4 in / 10 cm in stockinette stitch. Gauge is not crucial for this project but will affect the finished size.
Finished Measurements
Width: approx. 4 in / 10 cm Circumference: approx. 50 in / 125 cm
Abbreviations
T4B - Twist 4 Back: slip 2 stitches to cable needle and hold in back, k2, p2 from cable needle. T4F - Twist 4 Forward: slip 2 stitches to cable needle and hold in front, p2, k2 from cable needle.
Directions
Note: On each row, slip the first stitch purlwise, follow the directions for the cable pattern until one stitch remains, and then knit the last stitch. Using scrap yarn and a provisional cast-on method, CO 38. Repeat rows 1-12 of cable pattern 26 times or until scarf is desired length, ending with row 12.
Cable Pattern
Row 1 (RS): p4, k2, \*p3, k2 \* repeat to end of row. Row 2 and every WS row: knit the knits and purl the purls as they appear. Row 3: p2, T4B, \*p1, T4B \* repeat to end of row. Row 5: \*T4B, p1 \* repeat until one stitch remains, p1. Row 7: knit the knits and purl the purls. Row 9: \*T4F, p1 \* repeat until one stitch remains, p1. Row 11: p2, T4F, \*p1, T4F \* repeat to end of row. Row 12: knit the knits and purl the purls as they appear.
Finishing
Undo provisional cast-on and place live stitches on a second needle. Graft live stitches together using kitchener stitch or preferred grafting method. Weave in ends and block to desired measurements.
