Yarn Making Materials
Rotary cutter or scissors. One $56^{\prime\prime}\times84^{\prime\prime}$ MPI SPACE Emergency Blanket cut into $1.5^{\prime\prime}$ strips. Scotch Tape.

8 stitches and 11 rows over 4inches

$23^{\prime\prime}$ around and $7^{\prime\prime}$ tall. Stretches to fit most adult human heads.

Make your Yarn

Using one $56^{\prime\prime}\times84^{\prime\prime}$ MPI SPACE Emergency Blanket cut $1.5^{\prime\prime}$ strips using fold lines as a cutting guide. Keep cutting until A. Your hand falls off B. All of the blanket is used up. C. All of the above.

After strips are cut, tape each piece together.

Continue taping until A. All the strips are taped together. B. All your fingers are taped together. C. All of the above. After all that cutting and taping you should have approximately this much yarn.

Now you're ready to knit!

Pattern
Cast on 36 stitches using long tail cast on and join in round. Knit all stitches. Continue in stockinette stitch until hat measures 6 inches from cast on edge.
Decreases
Switch to DPNs before starting decreases. Repeat instructions in asterisks 3 times each row.

Bind off remaining stitches and weave in ends if desired. Bind off will lay flat and reauires no extra treatment.
