Inspired by May Gibbs’ Gumnut & Gum Blossom Babies and designed for Neo Blythe Dolls head diameter 10.5" / 27cm.

Pattern designed for a bulky hand-spun yarn of 7 WP1. The yarn used is a wool alpaca blend approx. 60% undyed, naturally coloured corriedale sheep wool, 40% undyed naturally coloured alpaca. You need about 20 gr = 0.705479 oz yarn (the hat in the photos took 19gr) Set of DPNs 6mm / US 10 / UK 4 Or a Circ of same size if you like to work using ‘Magic Loop’ method Gauge 12sts = 4" or 10cm Cast on 33 sts, distribute evenly over 3 DPNs and, without twisting, join in the round working a p2tog using the first and last stitches - now you'll have 32sts. Pulling that 1s loop through the last 2 sts. Stem: work a crochet chain (either with a hook or you can use your fingers) of about 6 chains. Cut off yarn leaving a bit of a ‘tail'. With a big needle neaten the other ‘tail’ at the start of your knitting. Give hat to your doll - and restrain from making comments such as “Nuts for the Nutty"'

Pattern designed for a bulky hand-spun yarn of 7 WPI These yarns are kettle dyed wool You need about 20 gr = 0.705479 0z soft green colour (the hat in the photos took 19gr) & about 12 gr = 0.42oz in blossom colour (here a pink but could be white, cream lemon ...) Set of DPNs 6mm / US 10 / UK 4 Or a Circ of same size if you like to work using “Magic Loop’ method Gauge 12sts = 4" or 10cm

With Blossom Colour Cast on 65 sts, distribute evenly over 3 DPNs and, without twisting, join in the round working a p2tog using the first and last stitches - now you'll have 64sts. (this is my preferred method of joining in a round & avoiding a “bump’ at the start)
