Damson Lace Chart Insert by Miriam Pike By Miriam Pike, Sherwood Knits Materials: Yarn: One skein of Malabrigo Sock (100% Merino | 440 yards | 100 grams). I had no trouble running out of yarn. I have had friends who ran out a couple of rows from the end though Needles: US 6

Use this chart in conjunction with the Damson Shawl pattern by Ysolde Teague. This chart is made to be overlayed over her ending lace charts. The first time I made this shawl, I made a mistake on the last row that I liked - I ended up doing entirely too many yarn overs. I have included that down below the main chart if you are interested. Rows 74 thru 78 are the same as the original chart, they do not diverge until row 80. The only difference is that I did a different double decrease from her slip one knit 2 together passover. Instead I used the slip two at the same time as if to knit, knit 1, pass both slipped stitches over (sl2k1psso). This is just the pattern repeat, it does not start at the edge of the pattern. Row one would read: k3, yo, kl, yo, k16, s2k1psso, k16 etc. Row 80 would read: k3, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, k13, sl2k1psso etc. The easiest way to do this is to look at my lace pattern and write it into Ysolda's pattern if you print out an extra page of her chart.

Alternate last row: To add my modification to the last row, the three knit stitches in a row would look like this:

Bind off: I did not do Ysolda's bind off. Instead I did a beaded picot bind off.
