I designed this Renaissance era blouse and skirt set for Cinzia, a porcelain doll my mom bought at Ren Faire around 20 years ago. Cinzia is handmade, but compared to standard, mass-produced dolls, I'd say she's around the size of a Groovy Girl. As far as the outfit goes, it seems like a peasant style, although most outfits like that include a vest or corset. So far I have designed neither of those, but I am considering adding a vest to the ensemble. Anyhow, have fun knitting up the pattern I have so far ? Also, if you have any trouble with the abbreviations I use, please see the Abbreviations section at the bottom of Page 2.

Make another body panel. Sew the 2 panels together up the sides with both bind-off edges facing upwards. Make sure the seam only goes up until the place where you first bound off 6 stitches. (This groove is where the sleeves will go.) Sleeves (make 2): Cast on 22 stitches in Elite. Purl 3 rows. Row 4: Knit. Row 5: Purl. Repeat rows 4 & 5 until sleeve measures 5 inches. Bind off all stitches. Sew the sleeve together, joining the two sides to create a 5-inch tube. Make another sleeve.

Joining: On the body piece there are 2 grooves for the sleeves. Sew the sleeves into the grooves. There will be a little bit of sleeve at the top, which will have nothing to attach to and will become part :ckline. Now thread your yarn needle with Breeze and sew or crochet around the top line to form an edging. If desired, the same can be done around the bottom edges of the blouse and the sleeves.
Skirt:
In Breeze, with circular needles, Cast on 57 stitches. Work in Stockinette Stitch (knit every round) unit Skirt is as long as desired. Next round: \*K1, k2tog, repeat from \* to end of round. Bind off all stitches. If the skirt is not tight enough around your dolls waste, cut a long strand of Elite, thread into a yarn needle and sew all the way around the bind-off edge in Running Stitch to create a drawstring. Pull as tight as necessary and tie in a bow.
Abbreviations:
Mil = Make 1 left-okay, I can't think how to do a formal, concise explanation, but here's what you do: so instead of knitting the last stitch, see how there's another stitch beneath it in the row before? Take your right-hand needle and stick it into the left loop of that stitch in the row before. Now with this loop on your needle, wrap the yarn around as if it were a regular knit stitch and knit it. K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together Ssk = Slip 1 stitch, slip 1 stitch, knit these 2 stitches together Mir = Make 1 left-this is a little bit like Mil, so remember the stitch from the row before? Great, this time look at the stitch you just knit and with your left-hand needle, go into the into the right-hand loop of the stitch before. Now put the right-hand needle into the same loop and knit it as if it were a regular stitch.
