Size: Adult 24" Circumference

Stitches/Abbreviations Used: ST/STS - Stitch/Stitches BPdc - Back Post Double Crochet FO- Finish Off Ch- Chain Rnd - Round sl st - Slip Stitch FPdc- Front Post Double Crochet sC - Single Crochet FPTr - yarn over twice, insert around front of post, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over pull through remaining 2 loops FPTr Cross- skip 2 stitches, FPTr in next 2 stitches 2 rows below, FPTr in skipped stitches 2 rows below. For the gauge just make sure the foundation chain that is created fits over your head. If the hat needs to be larger or smaller the final chain number needs to be divisible by 18. The stitch count will be different however you would follow the same steps.

Round 1: Ch 2, dc in each st around (72) Round 2-6: Ch 2, \*2FPdc, 2BPdc\* repeat from \* around, sl st to join (72) Round 7: Ch 2, hdc in each st around (72) (Change to color B at the end of the round.) Round 8: Ch 2, \*3hdc, 4FPTr two rows below, 4hdc, 4FPTr two rows below, 3hdc\* repeat from \* around, sl st to join (72) Round 9: hdc around, sl st to join (72) Round 10: Ch 2, \*3hdc, FPTr Cross, 4hdc, FPTr Cross, 3hdc\* repeat from \* around, sl st to join (72) Round 11: hdc around, sl st to join (72) Round 12-15: Repeat Rounds 8-9 twice Round 16-17: Repeat Rounds 10-11 Round 18- 29: Repeat Round 12-17 twice, leave a long tail to sew the top of the hat shut and FC Finishing: Push 4 sides in making an "x" with the top of the hat. Use the tail to secure the middle, Taking each point and sewing it to the middle, continuing the process until you can no longer see the flat edge.
