This lacy scarf mimics the look of crochet, but the reversible, easy to memorize pattern is all knit stitches. Use any yarn - instructions are given on how to customize your finished size.

Instructions: Cast on any multiple of 2 stitches. For a 6-7" wide scarf, cast on 16 or 18 for chunky weight yarn, 20-22 for aran weight, 24-26 for worsted; more or less if you would like a narrower or wider scarf. Setup rows: Knit two rows even. Begin reversible lace pattern. Reversible lace pattern: Row 1 = Sl 1 K1 \*K1 YO K1, repeat from \* until 2 stitches remain, K2 Row 2 = Sl 1 K1 \*P, repeat from \* until 2 stitches remain, K2 Row 3 = S1 1 K1 \*K2tog K1, repeat from \* until 2 stitches remain, K2 Row 4 = Sl 1 Knit to end Row 5 = S1 1 K1 \*YO K2tog, repeat from \* until 2 stitches remain, K2 Row 6 = repeat row 5 Row 7 = Sl 1 Knit to end Repeat rows 1-7 until yarn is gone, or scarf is long enough!
