Materials
Double knitting yarn (UsA - knitting worsted weight: Australia - 8ply) in brown, dark brown, white, green and red Anchor Artiste Metallic yarn in gold or equivalent yarn Knitting needles size 3%mm (UK size 10) / Sewing needle Good quality washable toy stuffing
Toy safety
Please ensure that attached pieces are sewn on very securely and seams are tightly finished off. Use only new, hygienic, washable stuffing that conforms to current safety standards.

Begin at base of pudding and using brown yarn cast on 8 sts Row 1 (lnc 1) 7 times, K1 (15 sts) Row 2 Purl Row 3 (K1, m1, K1) 7 times, K1 (22 sts) Row 4 Purl Row 5 (K2, m1, K1) 7 times, K1 (29 sts) Row 6 Purl Row 7 K2, (in brown K2, in dark brown K1, in brown K6) 3 times Row 8 (In brown P6, in dark brown K1, in brown P2) 3 times, P2

Work a gathering thread through the cast on stitches and draw up. Then working up from the base of the pudding, join the side seam, stopping in line with the first row of currants. Now join the side seam working down from the gathered top of the pudding, leaving a 3cm opening. Turn right side out. Stuff the pudding firmly, shaping as you go. Oversew gap in seam.
Holly Leaves (make two)
Using dark green yarn cast on 13 sts Rows 1 - 2 Beg with a K row, st-st 2 rows Row 3 K1, (pass yarn under and over the tip of right hand needle to make a stitch, K2tog) to end Rows 4 - 5 Beg with a Purl row, st-st 2 rows Row6Castoff Sew cast on and cast off edges together with Knit side of st-st outside. Fold the strip in half and sew cast on, cast off edges together to form the leaf.
Holly Berries (make three)

Using red yarn cast on 3 sts Row 1 Purl Row 2 Inc 1, Inc 1, K1 (5 sts) Row 3 Purl Row 4 Knit Row 5 P2tog, P1, P2tog (3 sts) Row 6 Sl1, K2tog, psso B&T Make into a berry shape. Position and sew the holly and berries onto the top of the pudding as illustrated. To make the Christmas pudding into a hanging decoration, attach a length of gold yarn and make into a loop.
