Notes:
Working the selvedge stitches as described above creates a chain-like edge. Color changes will be noticeable at the very edge, but alternating stripes in stockinette and garter stitch lets the edge roll slightly towards the wrong side of the fabric, camouflaging this unsightly wandering up of colors into the next row so it won't be visible from the right side.
