Materials: 600m of lace weight yarn. Sample shown in BC Garn Silkbloom Extra Fino (45 % mulberry silk, 55 % wool, 300m/ 50g) color 07. 4mm (US 6) needles Stitch markers Gauge: 22 sts and 30 rows in lace pattern = 10cm/4" after blocking.

Size of the finished shawl: 30cm/12" width,

200m/80" length. The size can be modified easily by adding pattern repeats. The width of one pattern repeat is approx 10cm/4" and length is approx 6cm/2.4".

Directions

CO 65 sts. Knit 4 rows. Next Row (Rs): K3, \*pm, work row 1 of the lace pattern, repeat from \* once, pm, work row 1 of the lace pattern WITHOUT the last purl st, pm, k3. Next row and allthe WS rows (Ws): K3, knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts and yos until 3 sts remain, k3. Repeat the last two rows working the lace pattern according to the chart or the written instructions. There are three pattern repeats on a row, and the last pattern repeat doesn't have the last purl st because of symmetry. Repeat the 18-row lace pattern 30 times or until desired length of the scarf. End with RS row 17. Knit 3 rows. BO sts loosely on RS. Finishing: Weave in the yarn ends and block the shawl. LACE PATTERN Row 1: K3, k2tog, yo, k2, k2tog, yo, p1, yo, ssk, k2,yo, ssk, k3, p1. Row 3: K2, k2tog, o, k1, k3tog, yo, k1, yo, p1, yo, k1, yo, sssk, k1, yo, ssk, k2, p1. Row 5: (yo, k3tog) 2 times, yo, k3, yo, p1, yo, k3, (yo, sssk) 2 times, yo, p1. Row 7: K1, k3tog, yo, k5, yo, p1, yo, k5, yo, sssk, k1, p1. Row 9 and 11: K2, yo, k1, ssk, p1, k2tog, k1, yo, p1, yo, k1, ssk, p1, k2tog, k2, p1.
