City Paths

Simple knits and purls create a fully reversible textured cowl with lots of scrunch and depth. Knit in the round, City Paths is long enough to wrap once or twice around your neck.
Materials:
Yarn: Miss Babs Keira (100% superwash Merino; 560 yds per 8.3 oz), 1 skein. Shown in Pyrope. Needles: 32" US 4 (3.5mm) circular or sizetoobtaingauge Notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle Gauge: 29 stitches and 40 rows 0ver 4" in City Paths Pattern Size: 39"circumference and 8.5" tall
The Pattern:
Cast on 288 stitches. Join to work in the round, being careful not to twist, and mark beginning of round. Knit 3 rounds. Work in City Paths Pattern (see charts or written instructions on following page) until cowl measures approximately 8" from cast on edge, ending after an even row of the pattern. Knit 3 rounds. Bind off. Weave in ends and block.

To change the length of the cowl, add orsubtractmultiplesof24stitchesto yourcaston. Round 1: K2, p2, k8, p2, k2, p8. Round 2 and all even rounds: Repeat previous round. Round 3: K2, p8, k2, p2, k8, p2. Round 5: K8, p2, k2, p8, k2, p2. Round 7: P6, k2, p2, k8, p2, k2, p2. Round 9: K4, p2, k2, p8, k2, p2, k4. Round 11: P2, k2, p2, k8, p2, k2, p6. Round 13: P2, k2, p8, k2, p2, k8. Round 15: P2, k2, p2, k8, p2, k2, p6. Round 17: K4, p2, k2, p8, k2, p2, k4. Round 19: P6, k2, p2, k8, p2, k2, p2. Round 21: K8, p2, k2, p8, k2, p2.
