Supplies

1. Yarn - the example is crocheted with Helen Novita (100% acryl; 50g = 105m). Color A -white Color B - black 2. Polyester fiberfill 3. 10mm black safety eyes 4. Crochet hook 3,0mm (or in accordance with the yarn you use) 5. Stitch marker 6. Darning needle

About the pattern

Work in continuous rounds. Do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed. It would be wise to use a stitch marker and place it in the first stitch of the round to mark the beginning of it. Move the marker up to the first stitch of the next round after finishing the previous one. If you need to change color, do it always at the end of the previous round. Start the last stitch of the round with the old color. Change the color right before you draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. You can easily sew the toy together when you leave each piece a long yarn tail.

Stitch explanation

Decrease (sc2tog) - Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook. Comments In this pattern every detail starts with a magic ring. If you don't want to use that, you can easily start like this: Chain 2. Work 6 sc in first ch. Continue to round 2.

Abbreviations

sl st = slip stitch ch = chain sc = single crochet dc = double crochet hdc = half double crochet dec = decrease inc = increase st(s) = stitch(es) rep = repeate

PATTERN

Start with eyes. First crochet eye patches.

EYE PATCH

Color B.

Rnd 1: start 10sc in a magic ring. 1 ch to first sc (10) Rnd 2: 1 ch, starting at same stitch 1 sc, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 2 dc, 2dc, 1 hdc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, 1 sc in next sc (14) (photo 1-2). Important! When you resize magic ring, leave the opening big enough for the secured plastic eye to fit through. Leave long yarn tail for eye patches to sew onto a head and break yarn. Place the safety eyes onto a head and leave them (lmportant! Do not secure them yet, we will come back to this part)

HEAD

Color A.

Rnd 1: start 6sc in a magic ring (6) Rnd 2: inc 6 times (12) Rnd 3: \*sc in nxt st, inc\* rep 6 times (18) Rnd 4: \*sc in nxt 2 st, inc\* rep 6 times (24) Rnd 5: \*sc in nxt 3 st, inc\* rep 6 times (30) Rnd 6: \*sc in nxt 4 st, inc\* rep 6 times (36) Rnd 7: \*sc in nxt 5 st, inc\* rep 6 times (42) Rnd 8: \*sc in nxt 6 st, inc\* rep 6 times (48) Rnd 9: \*sc in nxt 7 st, inc\* rep 6 times (54) Rnd 10 - 20: work around (54) Rnd 21: \*sc in nxt 7 st, dec\* rep 6 times (48) Now it is time to finish your eye patches with safety eyes. Secure them between 15. and 16. row. Leave between the eyes 10 stitches apart, counting so that first eye is in first stitch and other eyes is in 11th stitch. Before you secure your eyes, pull yarn tail with hook into inner side of the work. Check the eye patches to be on one height, wider edges towards outside. Sew the eye patches onto a head using yarn tails and darning needle. You'll get the best result, sewing over the edges (photo 3-4). Rnd 22: \*sc in nxt 6 st, dec\* rep 6 times (42) Rnd 23: \*sc in nxt 5 st, dec\* rep 6 times (36) Fill the head tightly with fiberfill. Add stuffing as the work progress Rnd 24: \*sc in nxt 4 st, dec\* rep 6 times (30) Rnd 25: \*sc in nxt 3 st, dec\* rep 6 times (24) Rnd 26: work around (24) sI st into next st, fasten off; finish stuffing (photo 5).
