The exciting thing about amigurumi is that they are great stash busters! Use any left over yarn but make sure you useasize smaller crochet hook than usually recommended. Have fun with the features and use buttons, yarn, fabric or safety eyes. You will also need a tapestry needle for sewing_ and a small amount of stuffing. Larry (the large snake) was made with two strands of Cleckheaten country 8 ply and a size 5.oo crochet hook. Barry (the small snake was madewith1strandof Cleckheaten country 8 ply and a size 3.oo crochet hook. An oddment of black yarn was used for both mouths and red yarn for tongues.

Normally if you were traveling through Australia you would avoid The Eastern Brown Snake (pseudonaja textilis). They are after all, one of the deadliest snakes on the planet. Not so Barry and Larry. Sc in next 3sc,2sc in next sc.(5 times)25 sts R4.Sc in next 4 sc, 2sc in next sc (5 times) 30 sts. R5 sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc (5 times) 35 sts R6. Sc all around. 35 sts R7. Sc all around. 35 sts R8. Sc all around. 35 sts R9 Sc all around. 35 sts R10. sc in next 4 sts dec 1 (5 times) 30 sts R11. sc in next 3 sc dec 1 (5 times) 25 sts R12. sc in next 3 sts dec 1 (4 times) 20 sts Put eyes on now. And lightly stuff. R14. sc in next 2 sc dec 1(4 times) 16 sts. R15. sc in next 2sc dec 1 (4 times) 12 sts. Flatten head and ensure it is isn't too tightly stuffed. Dec all around until 4 sts remain. Using the tapestry needle thread through remaining stitches and fasten off. Using oddment of black yarn embroider mouth and add tongue with scrap of fabric or length of red yarn.
