Ch 6 Go to second ch from hook, and sc back to the base of the head (5 sc). Sc once more at the base of the antennae around the stitch on the head to which the length of yarn originally was attached. (alternatively: once at the base of the head, draw the crochet hook through the stitch on the head to which the yarn is knotted, and complete a single crochet) Draw tight, tie off. Repeat for second antenna. Eyes: The eyes are sewn on using a yarn needle. Using a short length of any yarn, place the eyes beneath the antennae at desired location. Completing the Body:
Using the picture as a model, attach the Head to the Thorax using the length of yarn on the Thorax, and attach the Abdomen to the Thorax using the length of yarn on the Abdomen.
Legs (Make 6)
Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook. Do not place marker; continue around in a spiral until stitches have formed a tube 5 inches long. Thread a yarn needle with a pipe cleaner, and insert the pipe cleaner into the leg. Cut to appropriate length. This will stretch the legs to approx. 6 inches - make sure all legs end up the same length. Using the picture as a model, sew all 6 legs to the Thorax, three to each side. Bend as desired.
