Using US 5 needles, cast on 86[90,94,98,106,110,118] sts. Work row as follows: k1, $(\mathrm{k}2,\!\mathrm{p}2)^{\ast}$ repeating from \*, to last sts, p1. Repeat this row 5[5,5,7,7,9] rows. Next RS row: k10[12,12,12,12,12], p2tog, yo, k1[3,3,3,5,7] , work chart 1, k2[2,4,6,8,12], work chart 2, k2[2,4,6,8,12], work chart 1, k1[3,3,3,5,7] ,yo, p2tog, k10[12,12,12,12,12]. On next and all WS rows, work stitches as they lay. (This means that if the stitch was knit on the RS, then you will purl on WS. If purl on RS, then knit on WS.) Continue in pattern, working the appropriate repeats of the charts. When the piece measures 3.5[ 3.5, 3.5, 3.5,3.5,4] inches, dec 1 st at each end. Repeat decreases every $^{6\mathrm{th}}$ row 3 times. When piece measures 9[ 9, 9, 9, 9, 9.5] inches, inc 1 st at each end and repeat every $6^{\mathrm{th}}$ row 3 times. Work piece until it measures 12.75[12.75, 12.75, 13,13, 13.25] inches. Begin armhole and neckline shaping: Next RS row: Bind-off 5[ 5, 6, 8, 8, 8] sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. 76[80, 82, 82, 90, 102] sts. From this point forward, you will knit the first 2 and last 2 on every RS & WS row. This will create a garter stitch edging. Any decreases should be worked after/before these 2 stitches. Next RS row: Keeping in pattern, dec 1 st at each end of the next 5 rows. 66[70,72,72,80,92]. Then dec 1 sts at each end every alt row 4[4, 4, 4, 4, 6] times. 58[62, 64,64,72, 80] sts. Then dec 1 sts at each end every 4th row 2[2, 2, 2,2, 3] times. 54[58, 60, 60, 68, 74] sts. Continue working in pattern until armhole measure 3[3, 3, 3.5, 3.5,4] inches. Next RS row: Work 10 sts, place remaining sts on a holder. Turn and k2, p6,k2. On next row and next 5 alt. rows, work to last 4 sts, k2tog,k2. 4sts. On RS and WS rows, knit all sts.
