Autumn Fires

Sock recipe for lacy-ish toe-up socks This is not a whole sock pattern, but rather a recipe to be supplemented with your favourite toe and heel. I prefer using short-row toe and heel constructions. A fabulous one can be bought on Ravelry for US \$ 1.o0 from the Sox Therapist: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fish-lips-kiss-heel This is a recipe for making socks which requires some knowledge on sock construction and your preferred sizing. Some hints on sizing are given, based on my gauge and sock size. The recipe gives hints and additional information that can be ignored ifyou use a different toe and / or heel construction or do not need a mini-gusset with the FLK heel.

Gauge 0n 10x10 cm:

32 stitches and 48 rows in stockinette after soaking Size: 56 stitches European 39 (UK 6, US 8.5), narrow feet

Notes and annotations

My sock measures 17cm circumference blocked, but unstretched, and fits a 21 cm circumference foot. Yarn: about 450 yards of Fingering (Solstice Yarn Poseidon shown in the pics)

please refer to either chart or written instructions at the end of thisrecipe For a different size, you can of course adjust your needle size. As an alternative you can also do so. Don't forget that you can change the number of colours used to amazing effect, and that this project is a great stash buster; just change course, you could just dive in, changing colours when you feel inspired to your own sequence, I suggest trying The Random Stripe Generator. Of repeats. As shown here, the This is the Colour Sequence I used for my pillow. If you would like to use yarns when you run out of each colour. Autumn Fires, page 1 of 5
