Radiant was inspired by my daughter Abigail, a sunny girl who adores colour and is always on the move. She prefers to wear dresses above all else and so this sweater was a desperate bid to create something warm that she deemed worthy of wearing in the winter months. I designed it with only three buttons because Abby is always on her way somewhere and doesn't have time to work more than three buttons before she loses interest and is out the door. She now chooses this sweater above all others if asked to retrieve one and will even put it on without any prompting at all.

Finished Measurements:
Chest: 26% (281%, 29%, 301%) inches before blocking Length: 13% (14%, 15%, 17%) inches before blocking Cuff to Underarm: 8 [9, 10, 11] inches Since this cardigan is worked sideways it will grow in length for both sleeves and hem by about 11 inches after blocking if the suggested yarn is used. This vertical stretching will also diminish the circumference, for this reason the sweater is designed with a larger chest circumference to accommodate the change.

Kitchener Stitch for Sleeves
Using opposite end of circular needle (or other straight needle), pickup stitches that were provisionally cast-on; beginning at the end closest to the underarm. Ensure that these stitches are oriented correctly on the needle with the right ladder in front of the needle. When all stitches are picked up, arrange needles horizontally so that the tips with the cuff stitches are pointing to the right and the yarn end is attached to the lower needle. Thread yarn onto tapestry needle. Begin by sewing \*knitwise through the first stitch on the back needle, slip it off, then purlwise through the next stitch on the back needle, leave it on, now purlwise through the first stitch on the front needle, slip it off, then knitwise through the next stitch on the front needle, leave it on\*; repeat from \* to \* 3 times. Work knitwise through the back needle, slip it off, then knitwise through the next stitch, leave it on, now purlwise through the first stitch on the front needle, slip it off, then purlwise through the next stitch, leave it on. \*Work purlwise through the first stitch on the back needle, slip off, then knitwise through next stitch, leave it on, knitwise through first stitch on the front needle, slip it off, then purlwise through next stitch, leave it on\*; repeat from \* to \* until all stitches are used. Do not work in end, you will use it to close the underarm seam when finishing the sweater. Button Tip: You may find it useful to attach a clear button to the back of the regular button on the opposite side of the fabric. This creates a sandwich of top button, knitted garment, and bottom clear button and helps to keep the button from pulling on the knitted fabric.
