Using DPNs or Magic Loop Circular, pick up 3 sts along the cast on edge, then work rest of thumb sts as established in K1b, P1 rib. There will be 20 sts on your needles. Continue working in the K1b, P1 pattern for 6 rows, or until desired length. Bind off using Sewn Bind Off. Mitt Chart: Only one repeat is shown (rows 1-4). Repeat this for a total of 5 repeats before starting thumb gusset. The last six stitches should also be repeated until all 45 stitches have been worked.

Weave in ends. Block if desired. Make second mitt same as the first. Sewn Bind-Off: Elizabeth Zimmerman's Bind off method can be found described in this Knitty.com article: http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/FEATsum06TT.html You can find videos on You-Tube as well. To do the bind off, cut off your yarn 4 times the distance around your edge. Thread a needle, you will be using this to do the bind off: Slip the needle through two stitches on the LHN, Right to Left and pull through. Go back through the first stitch on the LHN, and drop it off the LHN. Repeat around.
